Game Night!
Last night we enjoyed a well needed 'game night' at youth. Oliver darling won a race by gobbling up a string with a lifesaver tied to the end. Of course, it all pays off when you get to have a blindfolded teenager make an ice cream sundae on your face.
Rose stood watching the final event, 'Showcase of the champions' if you will, and she asked me "Mama? Why is there only one girl playing the ice cream game?" I thought about it and said "Because she's is the only girl brave enough Honey." Go Elizabeth!

Villains
Rose is a pretty sensitive kid. For that reason and others Oliver and I have so far decided she still isn't quite ready for a storyline in movie or book with an evil antagonist. (ex:We figure we can take our time and enjoy surprising her with the 'Disney Princesses' in years to come.) Yet, the imagination and literal perception of a three-year old escapes our control. Therefore, Rose has two unsuspecting villains to fuel her fears. WARNING! THE FOLLOWING MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR THE FAINT OF HEART.
#1 SWIPER THE FOX
#2 ROMAN SOLDIERS

Crash The Superbowl
I've been a fan of Erwin McManus since some one suggested his podcast to me a while back. Planting several booming church plants in and around L.A.is no small task I'm sure and he and his team are needless to say very innovative in their approach to evangelism.
Anyways I thought their entry in the recent "crash the superbowl contest" was pretty funny. Also I see it as an example of how attractiveness of human creativity may be a compelling replacement to fear-driven evangelism.

World's Best Boss
Kyra and I agreed last night that although both Michael and Jim are probably the best friends to have in the office, neither is he best for for boss.
Then we started thinking about who would be the best replacement. I was really suprised that the person we came up with is Pam. Everyone likes her and she naturally seems to see what is reasonable in a compromise. We also thought about Oscar. Very smart and also reasonable.
Ha. What were you talking about last night?
