Kyra and I agreed last night that although both Michael and Jim are probably the best friends to have in the office, neither is he best for for boss.
Then we started thinking about who would be the best replacement. I was really suprised that the person we came up with is Pam. Everyone likes her and she naturally seems to see what is reasonable in a compromise. We also thought about Oscar. Very smart and also reasonable.
Ha. What were you talking about last night?

the bishops, teddy and i were talking about the oppression of women. at heated times it could have been wise for us to switch to talking about who should be the regional manager of dunder mifflin.
I agree with the choice of Pam. I don't think Oscar would work. Oscar is good at moaning and complaining about the man and what should really be done but when given the opportunity to really stand up for what's right he backs down, as seen in that ep where Michael gives him the floor in front of DM higher ups at the stockholders meeting and he freezes. He is reasonable and smart, but I think he's most effective in a behind-the-scenes sort of way.
mike scott is the best boss for dm, a 'forrest gump' with some serious relational, emotional, and maturity issues. and without the integrity and work ethic. ok, so not forrest gump at all, but so clearly incapable of being a good boss to us...yet he will emerge as the one guy who can produce results, though he doesn't produce anything by himself, at all. at precisely the right moment, though, mike's incredible co-dependency struggles enable him to say or do the right thing, redeeming all his previous mistakes. anybody else would be too mature to realize their own lunacy, and would give up. not mike.
he gets my vote.
